Oireachtas 2017

Dear Oireachtas teams, soloists and mini feis competitors,
We are excited to bring you the registration details for your Oireachtas 2017 season!
PLEASE NOTE: This registration is your actual registration for the Oireachtas competition itself. The Booster Club processes and enters these registrations as one whole group for Trinity for Oireachtas.

THE DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION is WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 27, 2017

Please make sure that you have completed this online registration, and that we have received payment on time so that you don't miss out on your competition.
If you miss this deadline you will not be able to compete at this year's Oireachtas.

A complete Oireachtas registration requires:
  • PAID 2017/ 2018 Trinity Booster Club membership and your Booster Club account to be in good standing; this means no past due amounts or invoices.
Should you have any problems or concerns about the registration please contact Casey Carroll at casey@trinityirishdance.com  or 877-326-2328.

There are several pieces to the Oireachtas registration.
Please be sure to read through all of the instructions below and on the registration page. SEE BELOW on how to qualify.

  • To complete registration and payment You will need to select your solo, teams, minifeis category (whichever applies to your dancer) as well as the Family/Admission Fee. For example, if your dancer is participating in the mini feis and on an Oireachtas ceili team, please register for Mini Feis, Ceili and the Family Fee. The Family Fee is set by the Oireachtas Committee. These fees cover you and any family or friends attending the event (There are no wrtistbands or entry fees for Oireachtas).
  • Allocation- Your wonderful Trinity Teachers will be attending to support our dancers in Schaumburg, Illinois this year. Families attending are expected to pay an allocation fee per dancer to defray the costs of the teachers' travel, hotel,  dancer results and admission for teacher at event, etc.  It will also be used to defray costs of rehearsal space, family room, transportation and other treats for our dancers and families throughout the weekend. To determine the allocation amount  the TBC uses budgeted expenses divided by the number of dancers expected in attendance. This years' allocation will be $90 per dancer or $110 per family who has more than one dancer competing at the Oireachtas.
  • Quick Feis-  Please make sure your dancer has a Quickfeis account with the correct BIRTHDATE and REGION info! (You do not need to do anything else in Quickfeis, other than have an account!) Thank you!!!

  • Teacher Meal Gift- Our teachers are amazing! They run around Oireachtas all day from prep in the morning through results in the evening! This hectic schedule makes it hard for our teachers to even grab a snack, let alone a meal! If you are able, please donate a meal ($10) to our fantastic teachers for all of the hard work they put in for every single dancer!

To Qualify for the Oireachtas

Mini Feis

The MidAmerica Region offers a Traditional Set competition at our Oireachtas, for dancers who are not competing in the solo championship. Trinity’s qualifications to compete at the 2017 MiniFeis are:

Dancers U9 & older must have placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in a Traditional Set competition at the novice or prizewinner level in a MidAmerica or MidAtlantic Feis between October 1, 2016 and September 15, 2017.

Dancers who have qualified and intend to compete at the 2017 Mini Feis must register for Mini Feis Training Classes, held in October and November in Elmhurst, IAHC, Third Ward and Madison. More info to come asap!

MidAmerica Oireachtas Solo Championships

The MidAmerica Region provides qualifications for dancers who wish to compete in our region’s solo championships and World qualifying event. Trinity increases the level of qualification to ensure that our dancers are adequately prepared to take on this high level competition and ready to meet the challenge of competing against the best of the best our region has to offer. In order to compete in the solo championship at the 2017 Oireachtas, a Trinity dancer must:

U8 & U9 dancers will be entered at teacher discretion. Those dancers have already been selected and are training in Trinity’s Accelerated Program.

U10 dancers must have placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in each of the 4 major dances at the prizewinner level in a MidAmerica or MidAtlantic feis between October 1, 2016 and August 15, 2017.

U11 & U12 dancers must have placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in each of the 4 major dances (including 1 1st place in soft shoe and 1 1st place in hard shoe) at the prizewinner level, OR place in the top 50% of a PC competition on two separate occasions, in a MidAmerica or MidAtlantic feis between October 1, 2016 and August 15, 2017. (Dancers who are already in Accel have until September 30 to complete this qualification)

U13 & older dancers must have placed in the top 50% of two separate PC competitions in MidAmerica or MidAtlantic feiseanna between October 1, 2016 and September 30, 2017, or be competing in OC.

**We anticipate these qualifications staying the same in 2018, so the clock starts on October 1, 2017 to qualify for the 2018 Oireachtas**
